Why Natural?We discovered that many natural ingredients can create truly effective skincare products. We also realized that many synthetic products can lead to skin irritation, which can result in allergic reactions to the skin as well as inflammation, adult acne, and rosacea. Many people talk about nanotechnology, which has been a breakthrough in the skincare industry because of its highly effective delivery system. But as questions arise about the safety of certain synthetic ingredients, so do concerns that the increased penetration these nanotechnolgies provide may also enhance the potential harm of the synthetics they are delivering into the skin. Terralina products use a system of natural emollients such as squalane, shea butter, soy ceramide, olive oil, sandalwood, and barley extracts rather than harsh petrochemicals, mineral oils, and synthetic, ethoxylated materials, which in addition to being irritating, may also be toxic to the skin. For cleansing, we use a system of naturally derived gentle cleansers such as oat and bark extract, rather than harmful sulfates or other aggressive detergents. For toning, we use sugar cane, birch, and witch hazel extracts to refine the pores instead of abrasive alcohol. Additionally, we utilize a system of soothing botanicals such as white tea, oat and chamomile-derived bisabolol to calm skin that has been exposed to the damaging effects of sun, pollution and other environmental aggressions, as well as aggressive skin treatments and products. Finally our moisturizing and anti-aging ingredients consist of naturally derived sodium PCA, vegetable glycerin, hyaluronate and lupine peptide, rather than agressive hydroxy acids, synthetic peptides or mineral oil. This kinder, gentler approach to skin care is not only more beneficial for the health and maintenance of the skin, but also more compassionate for the environment because these materials are made from renewable, natural, plant-derived resources.  |
