Notes From The FoundersMarch, 2007 Hi, we are Gina Garrubbo and Patricia Bazán Garrubbo, cousins by marriage and co-founders of Terralina™. We created this unique new skincare line for ourselves and others who want luxurious skincare without harsh or potentially harmful ingredients. Before you read any further, please note that we are in pre-launch mode, so if everything is not perfect on the site, please excuse us... now back to the blog... Several years ago, when we were both pregnant, we became somewhat obsessed with everything we ate and used in our daily lives, from cleaning products and hair color to personal care products. We found it nearly impossible to understand personal care labels and ingredients. We did some research and discovered that the FDA does not regulate personal care as it does pharmaceutical products, and we were concerned. So, we decided to create our own line of skincare products, and now others can indulge in the very best in skincare, without worry. For the past two years, we've educated ourselves and worked with the very best quality ingredients to create the advanced formulations for Terralina. When we started, we knew that we wanted to be as natural as possible, and avoid parabens, PEGs, ethoxylates, silicones, glycols, acrylates and artificial fragrance. We didn't realize how difficult it would be to create an effective and luxurious product without these, but we've done it. Through our research, we also discovered that free radicals are the primary cause of wrinkles, and that antioxidants are the best way to combat this damage. To that end, our products are rich in antioxidants like Olive Oil and White Tea, and nutritive ingredients such as barley, oat and sandalwood. While we did strive to be as natural as possible in our formulations, we found that products don't necessarily need to be all-natural or highly synthetic to be effective (and safe). It's actually the blend of naturals with the latest technology that makes great products. Since we want our customers to know exactly what they're putting on their bodies (because what you put on your body eventually goes into your body), we have a full list of ingredients and a glossary of terms at terralina.com. This list will help you understand our ingredients and those used in other products. As you navigate our website, you'll also see educational articles and links to organizations that offer additional information regarding harsh and potentially harmful ingredients in cosmetics and personal care products. We've included these articles and links because we have made it our mission to create the highest quality skincare products and to share everything we learn about ingredients.
