There are a lot of resources available with advice on the subject of health and nutrition in pregnancy for you to consult We believe that it is also crucial pregnant women pay close attention to the ingredients in their personal care products. This was actually our inspiration for creating Terralina! Because much of what you ingest passes into your bloodstream to your baby, it is important to know what you are absorbing through your skin. Some skincare products contain potentially harsh and harmful ingredients. Since personal care products are not closely regulated by the FDA, you may be surprised that a number of controversial ingredients and known carcinogenics are found in skincare. This is why it is up to you, the consumer, to decide what you feel good and comfortable about putting onto, and therefore into, your body, and which ingredients you would rather avoid. Accutane, retinoids, and salicylic acid have been deemed unsafe during pregnancy for years. And now pregnant women should be aware of other questionable ingredients as well, such as parabens, PEGs, and acrylamides. In addition, some women have reactions to fragrance, mineral oils and allergens during pregnancy. Irritants or drying agents such as sulfates, or abrasive alcohols may also need to be avoided by more sensitive skin during pregnancy. Also, terralina products are gentle and soothing, which means no irritation to the sometimes dry and sensitive skin you may experience during your pregnancy.
