Notes From The FoundersApril, 2008 We are exposed to chemicals in what we breathe, eat, drink and put on our bodies every day. Because your body absorbs everything, it's important to keep it clear of harsh or harmful ingredients, and avoiding harmful ingredients in beauty and cosmetic products can take more effort than selecting "organically grown" food in the grocery store. "Women use an average of about 12 products a day," says Jane Houlihan, Vice President of Research for non-profit Environmental Working Group. Those twelve products equal "one-hundred sixty-seven different chemicals, that we are putting on our skin, lips, hair." Click here for more information. The FDA doesn't regulate personal care products, and there are very few public studies regarding the effects of ingredients such as parabens, PEG's, ethoxolates, DEA, and mineral oil, but these ingredients and others are identified by the Environmental Working Group as potentially harmful - and are in many personal care products. At Terralina, our products are 98.85% natural or naturally derived, and do not contain harsh or harmful chemicals. In order to help consumers understand the ingredients in their beauty products. For more information, please visit our glossary of ingredient terms. There are many chemicals that we are exposed to on a daily basis that we cannot (or choose not to) avoid, but it's important to have a choice and understand what you're a putting into your body. Educate yourself and those you care about by understanding ingredients in products, so that you can choose a healthier life. ![]() |
