At Terralina™ we are committed to environmentally sensitive business practices. We specifically under-package our
products and use recycled, reusable and recyclable materials, and encourage reusability of some of our packaging.
UNDER-PACKAGE - We ship our products packed directly in the shipping box (unless sent as a gift).
We do not add extraneous wrappers or layers of unnecessary plastic or paper.
RECYCLED MATERIALS - The paper used for our boxes, cards, and stationary is made from 80% to 100% post
consumer recycled paper. The plastic bottles of our two newest products is 100% post consumer
recycled (PCR) plastic.
REUSABLE MATERIALS - We encourage our customers to re-use our packaging and provide ideas and incentives to do so.
Instead of gift wrap, we envelope our body lotions in a reusable and elegant organza pouch.
Terralina Facial Moisturizer comes with a soy tealight candle to be used in the emptied
and cleaned jar.
RECYCLABLE MATERIALS - We use recyclable materials for all of our packaging and encourage our customers to always
recycle.

A SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT OUR GIFT PACKAGING – One Person’s Trash Is Another Person’s Treasure – What was once trash on the streets of Delhi, India, is now Terralina’s beautiful and unique gift packaging. This green and purple open, square box is made of 100% post-consumer recycled grocery bags. The grocery bags used were collected from the streets of India, where they had become a littler liability- clogging the drainage system during the rainy seasons, and posing a health hazard. |
The collection of these bags has created jobs for local home-bound women, who previously were unable to hold a full time job while watching after their children. All bags go through a non-toxic cleaning method, followed by an extraordinary process where they are stripped and pressed to create a beautiful color, without additional dyes or inks. Each Terralina gift box is special due both to its beauty and its poignant socially conscious message. At Terralina, we wanted our packaging on the outside to match the integrity and purity of the ingredients on the inside.
Closing the Loop
When Terralina set out to find containers for our line of health-conscious, luxury skincare products, we wanted the packaging on
the outside to match the integrity and purity of the ingredients on the inside. For this reason, we decided to use 100% post consumer
recycled (PCR) plastic for two most recent products.
This plastic we use, known as high-density polyethylene (HDPE), comes from recycled plastic milk jugs and water bottles. When our
customers purchase our products packaged in PCR, they are helping to decrease our country’s dependence on fossil fuels, as well as
reducing landfill waste and green-house-gas emissions. Roughly 8% of the world’s fossil fuels are used to produce new plastics.
Increasing recycling rates and reducing the production of virgin plastic is an important part of solving the climate crisis.
Beyond reducing greenhouse gases and fossil fuel use, studies show that recycling supports new jobs - contributing to regional
economic development.
Americans recycle about 30% or 1 out of 3 HDPE plastic bottles. By packing these
products in 100% recycled plastic, we are doing our part to develop a cyclic
plastics economy, turning waste into usable product.
What You Can Do
You can help the environment in the following ways:
Give preference to those products that use recycled packaging or that don’t use excessive packaging. Try to re-use packaging. “Buying recycled” information can be found at the Environmental Protection Agency’s website at http://www.epa.gov/epawaste/wycd/store.htm
